Staff Sgt. Hector E. Orozco, receives new staff sergeant chevrons on his collar upon being meritoriously promoted from sergeant to staff sergeant during a ceremony at the Marine Corps Recruiting Station Phoenix Headquarters in Phoenix, Jan. 2, 2013. Orozco, a native of Los Angeles, and an aircraft electronic countermeasures systems technician by trade, has been a recruiter in the Phoenix region since July, 2011. "To get promoted is one thing. Everybody out here on recruiting duty is hand selected and personally screened, so you're already dealing with an A-List group of people to begin with," said Maj. Steven M. Ford, commanding officer of R.S. Phoenix. "So to stand out among that and to do it above and beyond quicker than you're peers is huge."
