This #FortRileyFriday we take a look at a building that was once the focal point of activity for the old Artillery Post centered around Artillery Parade Field.
Built in 1910 from native limestone, building 405 served the dual purpose of a gymnasium and the Artillery Post Exchange. Through the years 405 Pershing Court has also served as a NCO Club, library, post office substation, and offices for the chaplains of the Family Life Ministry. It was later renovated for use by the garrison Public Affairs Office.
Building 405 is now being used as additional office space for the Army Benefits Center-Civilian activity on post.
