Stephen Jacobs, a heavy mobile equipment repairer at area maintenance support activity (AMSA) 154 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, works on an alternator.
Army Reserve AMSA shops and ECSs are primarily staffed by military technicians. MilTechs at these locations service and repair multiple pieces of military equipment to include small arms, communications-electronics gear, and vehicles. In addition to repairing equipment, ECS sites provide storage for items that cannot stored at a unit’s physical location.
MilTechs perform vital roles across the Army Reserve. These dual-status technicians are required to serve in the Army Reserve as a condition of their civilian employment.
