Thomas Farmer, a heavy mobile equipment repairer at area maintenance support activity (AMSA) 145 in Huntsville, Alabama, changes out a wheel seal on a vehicle.
Army Reserve AMSA shops and ECSs are primarily staffed by military technicians. MilTechs at these locations service and repair multiple pieces of military equipment to include small arms, communications-electronics gear, and vehicles. In addition to repairing equipment, ECS sites provide storage for items that cannot stored at a unit’s physical location.
MilTechs perform vital roles across the Army Reserve. These dual-status technicians are required to serve in the Army Reserve as a condition of their civilian employment.
