Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro toasts J. William Middendorf II, who served as the former U.S. Ambassador to The Netherlands, the 62nd Secretary of the Navy, and is the namesake of the future USS J. William Middendorf (DDG 138). Secretary Del Toro was the featured speaker at a Keel Plate Unveiling ceremony for the future Arleigh Burke Class Flight III destroyer, hosted by the Naval War College in Newport, RI., Dec. 11, 2023.
