On July 4, 2023, Jeff Clouser, game warden with the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks, observed an adult bald eagle flying towards the osprey nest at Perry Lake, Kansas. One of the adult ospreys went after the eagle to protect its mate and young. Though smaller, the osprey quickly escorted the eagle away from its nest. | Photo by Jeff Clouser, Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks.
