A juvenile osprey was observed at Perry Lake, Kansas, on September 18, 2023. The osprey was spotted near the Kansas City District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Perry Lake project office and is suspected to be one of the two surviving chicks that successfully fledged the summer of 2023 at Perry Lake. This was the first successful recorded osprey nesting in the state of Kansas. | Photo by Jeff Clouser, Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks.
