Vana Handola, from the Ankawa Humanitarian Committee (AHC), personifies Iraqi women’s leadership.
With USAID's support, she embarked on a journey of connection and collaboration, networking with key development stakeholders from USAID, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), the Office of International Religious Freedom at the U.S. Department of State, and other faith-based organizations in the United States which resulted in positive outcomes including a partnership with the Chaldean Diocese.
Through the USAID-funded 'Transitional Assistance' project, CRS worked in partnership with AHC to enhance their networking, strategic planning and organizational skills which helped amplify local voices to address community needs and provide relief to IDPs, women and vulnerable populations and reintegrate them into their communities.
AHC team dedication, from developing strategies to leading as local leaders, breaks barriers and strengthens community leadership.
Let's celebrate Vana, AHC, and the empowering partnership with USAID that's shaping Iraq's future!
