Carrier Strike Group ONE participates in Trilateral Exercise

240116-N-VM650-1114 SOUTH CHINA SEA (Jan. 16, 2024) Cmdr. Jason Garfield, commanding officer of the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Sterett (DDG 104), observes the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70), and the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Princeton (CG 59), sail in formation during a trilateral exercise, Jan. 16. The exercise allowed maritime forces from Japan, Republic of Korea, and U.S. to train together to enhance coordination on maritime domain awareness and other shared security interests. Sterett, assigned to Carrier Strike Group ONE, is deployed to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific.
