This #FortRileyFriday we continue our look at buildings that originally served to support activities on the old Artillery Post.
Building 388 Dickman Avenue was built in 1907. It was originally designated as an Artillery Workshop. It was constructed with #limestone walls and foundation, a brick and wood floor, and a slate roof.
Directorate of Public Works (DPW) maintenance documents show that by 1930 building 388 had been redesignated as a Cavalry Stable Guardhouse and Blacksmith Shop after the Artillery School at Fort Riley was discontinued following World War I.
Today, 388 Dickman Avenue continues to serve #FortRiley as the Troop Motor Pool (TMP) fueling point.
