U.S. Marine Corps Capt. Eric Taylor, a Burtonsville, Maryland native and UH-1Y Venom Pilot with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 162 (Reinforced), 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable) (MEU(SOC)) poses for a photo aboard the Wasp class amphibious assault ship USS Bataan, Feb. 9, 2024.
Capt. Taylor has been a Marine for 7 years and his favorite part about it has been flying.
“It is an honor to carry on the legacy of Charles Bolden and Frank E. Peterson as a Marine Aviator. Additionally, the Marine Corps has allowed me to pursue any goal that I wish. It has given me more resources to improve myself than I could ever imagine. The Marine Corps affords the same opportunities to everyone who proves they are worth it and it’s up to that individual whether they capitalize on them.”
The 26th MEU(SOC), embarked with the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group (BAT ARG), are currently on a scheduled deployment in the Mediterranean Sea. (US. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Michele Clarke)
