A group of students from Ban Kuad Nam Man School and U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Cuong V. Cao break from a huddle as they get ready for a game of badminton during their lunch break Jan. 24 at Chat Trakarn District, Phitsanulok province, Kingdom of Thailand. Royal Thai soldiers with 302nd Engineer Battalion, Royal Thai Army and U.S. Marines with 9th Engineer Support Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force, are constructing a new building as part of an ongoing engineering civic assistance project at the school part of exercise Cobra Gold 2013. Similar structures are being built at four other schools within two other provinces. Exercise Cobra Gold is the largest multinational exercise in the Asia-Pacific region and provides the Kingdom of Thailand, U.S., Singapore, Japan, Republic of Korea, Indonesia and Malaysia an opportunity to maintain relationships and enhance interoperability. Cao is a combat engineer with 9th ESB.
