220325-N-EV253-1012 IMPERIAL COUNTY, Calif. (March 6, 2024) – An MH-60S Seahawk helicopter, assigned to the “Merlins” of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 3, lands in Glamis Dunes to aid in a rescue mission on March 23. During the event, Lt. Caleb Herrick, Lt. Brian Kennedy and US Naval Aircrewman Andrew Janvrin had been conducting routine flight operations in the area when they observed an unconscious civilian next to an all-terrain vehicle, and provided on-scene medical care before assisting with hand-off to Reach Air Medical Services. HSC-3 is the Navy’s West Coast MH-60S FRS, responsible for training pilots and aircrewmen by providing the most capable warfighters to the Fleet.
