Japan Ground Self-Defense Force service members with the Amphibious Rapid Deployment Brigade utilize an underwater navigation system to determine where to place charges during Beach Crab 24 at Kin Blue Beach Training Area, Okinawa, Japan, Feb. 28, 2024. Beach Crab 24 is a bilateral exercise between explosive ordnance disposal technicians and service members with 3rd Marine Logistics Group, U.S. Navy EOD Group One, JGSDF ARDB, and Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force. The exercise continued developing tactics, techniques, and procedures to locate, mark, and neutralize underwater and surface explosive hazards with a focus on detect-to-engage within maritime environments from sea, through littoral transition points, and onward from a beach landing site.
