U.S. Navy Sailors with Explosive Ordnance Disposal Group One, search for simulated underwater explosives during Beach Crab 24 at Kin Blue Beach Training Area, Okinawa, Japan, Feb. 28, 2024. Beach Crab 24 is a bilateral exercise between EOD technicians and service members with 3rd Marine Logistics Group, U.S. Navy EOD Group One, Japan Ground Self-Defense Force Amphibious Rapid Deployment Brigade, and Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force. The exercise continued developing tactics, techniques, and procedures to locate, mark, and neutralize underwater and surface explosive hazards with a focus on detect-to-engage within maritime environments from sea, through littoral transition points, and onward from a beach landing site.
