Kyle Trevor, a native of Salem, Oregon and an Electrical Engineer for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District, inside McNary Lock and Dam's powerhouse. Modernization efforts are currently underway at McNary Lock and Dam, including designing and installing new high efficiency, fish-friendly turbine runners, replacing multiple powerhouse systems and uprating the power generating capacity. The dam's 14 hydroelectric turbines are currently capable of producing a total of 980 megawatts of renewable energy, enough to power 686,000 homes. McNary’s navigation lock allows commercial and recreational access to the Inland Pacific Northwest.
