Sean Wolford, chief, Systems Division, Letterkenny Army Depot, inspects cables ready to be equipped as members of the Directorate of Information Management prepare to install fiber optic cables across the installation. Through a process called fusion splicing, individual fibers are welded together to create the best possible joint connection.
The ongoing installation of the network fiber cables will provide better bandwidth, speed and reliability, ensuring the depot's readiness to face the ever-changing needs of the Army for decades to come.
