Brig. Gen. Bill. A. Soliz delivers remarks May 11, 2024, during his promotion ceremony at Tripler Army Medical Center, Honolulu, Hawaii. He was promoted by Lt. Gen. Mary K. Izaguirre, the U.S. Army Surgeon General, and became armed forces’ first general who is an active-duty physician assistant. He is the commanding general of Medical Readiness Command, Pacific, and oversees nearly 4,000 Soldiers and 400 civilians in MRC, P and provides regionally ready, globally responsive medical forces, health service support, and force health protection across the region. He is also the director of Defense Health Network Indo-Pacific and oversees a joint, integrated health network with Army, Navy and Air Force personnel that provide quality care in medical facilities in Washington, California, Hawaii, Japan and the Republic of Korea.
