A team from the Soo Locks in Sault. Ste. Marie, Michigan, preps a gudgeon pin for installation into the gates of the Black Rock Lock, operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District, by drilling holes for grease to travel through, Buffalo, New York, April 12, 2024. The pins sit in the hinge of the lock gates, facilitating the opening and closing, and needed replaced after a routine inspection found they were faulty and are replaced by the Soo Locks team who brought expertise and all necessary tools to do the work over two weeks.
