U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Mark Anthony Blue, a geospatial intelligence imagery analyst assigned to the Intelligence Capabilities Development and Integration Directorate at Fort Huachuca, Ariz., uses the compass to cheek method to ensure his orients himself, and he leads his squad in the right direction during the land navigation course training event at Fort Bliss, Texas, May 9, 2024. Blue was engaged in a week-long training program run by the Joint Modernization Command. This training aimed to prepare Blue and his squad for the upcoming Army Futures Command Best Squad Competition, set to occur at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md., from June 2-7, 2024.
