HALAWA, Hawaii (June 28, 2024) A Navy Closure Task Force-Red Hill (NCTF-RH) contractor seals a 55-gallon drum containing sludge removed from fuel tank 8 at the Red Hill Bulk Fuel Storage Facility (RHBFSF) in Halawa, Hawaii, June 28, 2024. About 25 gallons were removed from the tank, which was recently ventilated. Charged with the safe decommissioning of the RHBFSF, NCTF-RH was established by the Department of the Navy as a commitment to the community and the environment.
