ATLANTIC OCEAN (SEP. 23, 2024) - Damage Controlman Fireman Zachary Tackett, left, from Lucas, Ohio, and Damage Controlman Fireman Ignacio Gonzalez, from San Francisco, both assigned to engineering department of the world's largest aircraft carrier, USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78), install a new diesel fuel filter on an Emergency Breathing Air Compressor (EBACS) machine during routine maintenance in the hangar bay, Sep. 23, 2024. Gerald R. Ford is the flagship of the Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group. The aircraft carrier is underway in the Atlantic Ocean to further develop core unit capabilities.
