U.S. Airforce Academy cadets pose for a photo before observing a joint a realistic joint exercise alongside U.S. Air Force, 26th Special Tactics Squadron operators with 2nd Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne) Sept. 12-15, 2024 near Colorado Springs, Colo. The training was a chance for joint Special Operations Forces (SOF) to increase interoperability while honing operational skillsets. SOF are composed of highly trained, rapidly deployable Airmen, who conduct global special operations missions ranging from precision application of firepower to infiltration, exfiltration, resupply and refueling of SOF operational elements.
