Staff Sgt. Gregory Weber, a motor transportation chief operator with 7th Engineer Support Battalion, 1st Marine Logistics Group, Alpha Company, and a 30-year-old native of Portland, Ore., instructs Cpl. Nathaniel Walker, a motor transportation line operator with 7th ESB, 1st MLG, Alpha Co., and a 21-year-old native of South Portland, Maine, on the proper method of throwing a grenade, Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013 on Range 202, here. The Marines conducted several practice runs before training with live grenades. Grenade training is essential for mission readiness. “Every Marine needs to know how to properly deploy a grenade so they don’t cause harm to themselves or other Marines around them while deployed,” said Weber. The company is set to deploy later this year.
