U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Paul Faulk, an explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) technician with 9th Engineer Support Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, right, and U.S. Navy EOD Technician 1st Class Michael Stoll with EOD Mobile Unit One, EOD Group One, set up a digital radiographic x-ray system during joint and bilateral littoral explosive ordnance neutralization and EOD Level 1 exploitation training as part of exercise Keen Sword 25 at Kin Blue Beach Training Area, Okinawa, Japan, Oct. 28, 2024. The training continued developing EOD tactics, techniques, and procedures to locate, mark, and neutralize underwater and surface explosive hazards. Keen Sword is a biennial, joint and bilateral field-training exercise involving U.S. military and Japan Self-Defense Force personnel, designed to increase readiness and interoperability while strengthening the ironclad U.S.-Japan alliance.
