U.S. Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Technician 1st Class Jarred Eidson, with EOD Mobile Unit One (EODMU-1), EOD Group One (EODGRU-1), right, and an Australian soldier with the Special Operations Engineer Regiment, Special Forces Group, set up a digital radiographic x-ray system during joint and bilateral littoral explosive ordnance neutralization and EOD Level 1 exploitation training as part of exercise Keen Sword 25 at Kin Blue Beach Training Area, Okinawa, Japan, Oct. 28, 2024. The training continued developing EOD tactics, techniques, and procedures to locate, mark, and neutralize underwater and surface explosive hazards. Keen Sword is a biennial, joint and bilateral field-training exercise involving U.S. military and Japan Self-Defense Force personnel, designed to increase readiness and interoperability while strengthening the ironclad U.S.-Japan alliance.
