U.S. Marines with 9th Engineer Support Battalion (ESB), 3rd Marine Logistics Group (MLG); U.S. Sailors with Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit One (EODMU-1), EOD Group One (EODGRU-1); and an Australian Army EOD technician with Special Operations Engineer Regiment (SOER), Special Forces Group (SFG); review a digital radiographic x-ray system control screen during joint and bilateral littoral explosive ordnance neutralization and EOD Level 1 exploitation training as part of exercise Keen Sword 25 at Kin Blue Beach Training Area, Okinawa, Japan, Oct. 28, 2024. The training continued developing EOD tactics, techniques, and procedures to locate, mark, and neutralize underwater and surface explosive hazards. Keen Sword is a biennial, joint and bilateral field-training exercise involving U.S. military and Japan Self-Defense Force personnel, designed to increase readiness and interoperability while strengthening the ironclad U.S.-Japan alliance.
