U.S. Marines and Sailors with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, accompanied by their spouses, friends, and fellow service members across units, participate in the 31st MEU’s Marine Corps Birthday Ball, at Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, Nov. 2, 2024. Together, they celebrated 249 years of success on the battlefield and a legacy defined by honor, courage and commitment. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premiere crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
