U.S. Marines and Sailors with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, accompanied by their spouses, friends, and fellow service members across units, present a toast during the 31st MEU’s Marine Corps Birthday Ball, at Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, Nov. 2, 2024. Together, they celebrated 249 years of success on the battlefield and a legacy defined by honor, courage and commitment. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premiere crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
