An Iraqi soldier with Quick Reaction Force, 2nd Brigade, 1st Iraqi Army Division, helps his comrade understand the safety rules and conditions of the M-16 A2 service rifle. Ten Iraqi soldiers were selected by their command to go through the M-16 A2 Service Rifle Maintainer's Course. They will be the first to participate in the RMC for their unit. As an incentive to complete the course, the soldiers were given armorer's tools that were specially made for them in order to perform their new jobs. This three-day course was developed because of a need for Iraqi soldiers to learn how to maintain the weapons they receive from U.S. forces. The objective is for these soldiers to become armorers for their units and share the knowledge they received from the Marines.
