U.S. Army Spc. Angel Ruiz and Spc. Lesly Sanchez, members of the 1896th Quartermaster Platoon, Utah National Guard, grab ingredients to prepare their dishes in the 2024 Veterans Day Culinary Competition in Sandy, Utah, Nov. 9 2024. The event was held with Soldiers of the 1896th Quartermasters Platoon and students of the Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) Culinary Institute; participants exercised their cooking capabilities in a challenging and fast paced environment; the competition built stronger relationships between the Utah National Guard and the SLCC Culinary Institute.
