A new license plate that benefits North Carolina National Guard families was released at the North Carolina Guard's Joint Force Headquarters here, March 1. The license plate was designed by ARMAC, a Raleigh-based design and merchandizing company, and features many patriotic elements, including the official U.S. motto, "In God We Trust," the American bald eagle, a national emblem symbolizing authority and power, and a billowing American flag, representing freedom and democracy. The plate also features the letters "S" and "A" for “soldiers and airmen.” The SAAF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 2004 with the mission of providing financial support to Army and Air Guard families coping with unusual or unpreventable hardships.
