Patrick Cline, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service wildlife biologist, places a bat acoustics device as part of research collection event while working on the vast grounds of Fort Bliss, Texas, August 27, 2024. Five U.S. Fish and Wildlife service biologists took part in the daylong event to collect data across Fort Bliss in an effort to support the Sikes Act. The Sikes Act is a United States law enacted in 1960 that requires cooperation between the Department of Defense and state agencies for the planning, development, and maintenance of fish and wildlife resources on military reservations across the country.
