U.S. Air Force Col. Greg Starkle, retired, former commandant of the Advanced Airlift Tactics Training Center, and Lt. Col. Jose Rivera Rivera, retired, former instructor with the AATTC, operates the Advanced Visual Threat Recognition and Avoidance Trainer during the 40th anniversary celebration of the AATTC at Rosecrans Air National Guard Base, in St. Joseph, Missouri, December 1, 2023. During the visit, former commanders, instructors and staff toured the school house, received a demo on the AVTRAT, participated in a chili cook off, and were invited to the yearly AATTC Christmas party. Since 1983 the AATTC, has provided advanced tactical training to airlift aircrews from the Air National Guard, Air Force Reserve Command, Air Mobility Command, U.S. Marine Corps and 17 allied nations.
