U.S. soldiers with the 1st Battalion, 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment, deployed from Ft. Myer, Va., discuss strategy for training members of the Uganda People's Defence Force on land navigation and terrain features prior to a squad competition at Forward Operating Location Kasenyi, Uganda, April 1. The UPDF soldiers are training with members of the The Old Guard during a 16- week course designed to enhance basic infantry skills among the force. The Army soldiers are part of Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa. One key part of the CJTF-HOA mission is to help Africans solve Africa's challenges. The squad competition gave UPDF soldiers an opportunity to showcase the skills they have learned in the 16-week course.
