U.S. Marines with Marine Air Control Squadron 4, Marine Air Control Group 18, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing set up an airfield mobile Tactical Air Navigation (TACAN) system and supporting equipment at the active airfield of Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, Feb. 6, 2025. Marines with MACS-4 and Marine Wing Communications Squadron 18, both with MACG-18, 1st MAW, employed a range of communications equipment to practice their ability to ensure rapid and effective support for air traffic operations, aircraft navigation, and airfield coordination in a dynamic, real-world environment.
