U.S. Marines Corps Cpl. Lucas Procopio, a data systems administrator with Marine Wing Communications Squadron 18, Marine Air Control Group 18, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, checks the network connectivity of a Starshield satellite at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, Feb. 6, 2025. Starshield, a commercial satellite communications asset procured through Starlink, provides internet connectivity even under infrastructure-limited conditions. Marines with MACS-4 and Marine Wing Communications Squadron 18, both with MACG-18, 1st MAW, employed a range of communications equipment to practice their ability to ensure rapid and effective support for air traffic operations, aircraft navigation, and airfield coordination in a dynamic, real-world environment. Procopio is a native of California. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Samantha Rodriguez)
