Alaska Air National Guard Staff Sgt. Riley Reloza, right, a loadmaster assigned to the 211th Rescue Squadron, supervises a documentary filmmaker as he films from the ramp of an HC-130J Combat King II during flight operations over the Kenai Fjords National Park, Alaska, Feb. 11, 2025. In April 2024, the same filmmaker attempted to traverse the Harding Icefield but was stranded by inclement weather. The filmmakers used a satellite communicator to send a distress signal and were ultimately rescued after a joint effort by the National Park Service, Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Alaska Rescue Coordination Center, and the Alaska Air National Guard. The filmmakers returned to JBER to make a documentary about their rescue. (Alaska National Guard photo by Alejandro Peña)
