In June 2024, United States Army Civil Affairs team based in Abidjan joined forces with GPOI training to align Civil Military Operations tactics being taught throughout the Ivorian Ground Force troops and the Peacekeeping Battalion. This combined effort shows unity of action in U.S. Security Assistance programming to assist Cote d'Ivoire in the effort to develop a high-level Civil-Military Operations Strategy and Curriculum initiative. U.S. Africa Command is one of seven U.S. Department of Defense geographic combatant commands. The command is responsible for all U.S. military operations, exercises, and security cooperation, and conducts crisis response on the African continent to advance U.S. interests and promote regional security, stability, and prosperity.
