Navy Senior Chief Master Diver Brett W. Sligo retires after a 21-year military career, Ventura, Calif., Jan. 31, 2025. Sligo served in his final duty station at the Oceans Department at Naval Facilities Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center (NAVFAC EXWC), where he supported the Command and the Navy with the research, development, testing and evaluation of the state-of-the-art underwater technology. Established in 2012, NAVFAC EXWC, headquartered at Naval Base Ventura County, California, is a command of approximately 1,300 dedicated personnel who provide research, development, test, and evaluation, and in-service engineering to deliver specialized facility and expeditionary solutions to the warfighter.
