Sligo served 21 years in the military, with his final duty station at the Oceans Department at Naval Facilities Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center (NAVFAC EXWC), where he supported the Command and the Navy with the research, development, testing and evaluation of the state-of-the-art underwater technology.
