    GREAT LAKES, Illinois (March 6, 2025) Officer Robert Alloy, a civilian police officer and instructor assigned to the Naval Station Great Lakes (NSGL) Security Department, instructs Sailors from NSGL tenant commands on the operation of the M18 handgun during an Auxiliary Security Force (ASF) Academy held aboard NSGL. The ASF academy is a three week course that trains active duty service members to augment base security personnel during various contingencies, terrorist attacks, natural disasters, civil disturbances, exercises, and special events requiring heightened security.
