(March 31, 2025) Naval History and Heritage Command Archivist Donna Marchessault signs her name into the guest book that will become part of the Navy Department Library's collection during its 225th Anniversary celebrations. From humble beginnings in 1800 with only approximately 200 volumes in the Navy Library collection, the library now consists of 114,000 book titles, 374,000 manuscripts, and 189,000 periodicals, emphasizing naval, nautical, and military history, including foreign navies.
