Vice President Dick Cheney observes recruits fighting a controlled fire aboard USS Trayer, the Navy's newest training simulator. Cheney also observed a capping ceremony for recruits just completing a night of emergency drills aboard the simulator, called Battle Stations. Battle Stations is the final evolution marking a recruit's final rite of passage into the Navy. Cheney also spoke to more than 4,000 Sailors at Recruit Training Command's Pacific Fleet Drill Hall.
