Sailors assigned to the USS Carter Hall (LSD 50) connect lines between their ship and the USNS Kanawha during a resupply at sea April 4, 2013. The 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit is currently deployed aboard the Carter Hall in the 6th Fleet area of operation. The MEU operates continuously across the globe, providing the president and unified combatant commanders with a forward-deployed, sea-based quick reaction force.
