The North Carolina National Guard’s 440th Army band performs for families, friends and soldiers of 210th Military Police Company during the unit’s deployment ceremony at Southwestern Community College here, April 17. The group of 30 soldiers will deploy to Afghanistan to conduct security and enforcement operations and customs inspection support for redeploying units in the region. One of the group’s tasks, custom’s inspection will help units redeploying from Afghanistan reduce the military foot print there in 2014.
