A C-130 Hercules containing U.S. Army special forces soldiers lands at Stennis Airport for Operation Serpent Clipper in support of Emerald Warrior 2013, John C. Stennis Space Center, Miss., May 2. During the training operation, the Soldiers infiltrated a simulated hostile camp, eliminated the enemy threat and saved a hostage. The primary purpose of Emerald Warrior is to exercise special operations components in urban and irregular warfare settings to support combatant commanders. Emerald Warrior leverages lessons from Operation Iraqi Freedom,Operation Enduring Freedom and other historical lessons to provide better trained and ready forces to combatant commanders.
