A U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III aircraft takes off at the John C. Stennis Space Center in Mississippi, May 2, 2013, after the completion of Operation Serpent Clipper in support of Emerald Warrior 2013. During the operation, soldiers infiltrated a simulated hostile camp, eliminated the enemy threat and saved a hostage. Emerald Warrior is an annual two-week joint/combined tactical exercise sponsored by U.S. Special Operations Command designed to leverage lessons learned from operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom to provide trained and ready forces to combatant commanders.
