Master Sgt. Leon Kennedy Jr., communications chief with Marine Wing Communications Squadron 38, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, was awarded a Bronze Star by Maj. Gen. Steven Busby, commanding general of 3rd MAW, during a ceremony at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Calif., May 13. Kennedy earned his bronze star for his hard work and dedication as senior enlisted advisor and operations chief with I Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward) from March 2012 to March 2013 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Kennedy explained that setting the example for his Marines was the driving force behind his hard work.
