Col. Matthew G. Trollinger, the commanding officer of the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, gives a speech and bids farewell to Sgt. Maj. Scott T. Pile, and welcomes Sgt. Maj. Troy E. Black during a relief and appointment ceremony May 16 at the 21 Area parade deck on Camp Pendleton, Calif. "Sgt. Maj. Pile's fingerprints and influence can be found in countless areas throughout the MEU here, he has unequivocally set the example for his peers subordinates and seniors alike," said Trollinger. Pile joined the 11th MEU in May 2010 and will assume the duties as sergeant major of Training and Education Command, Quantico, Va. Black is transitioning from Combat Logistics Battalion 5, Camp Pendleton, Calif.
